The new Be Mythical logo… Why the star? 🌟

By Lian Brook-Tyler

Those who know Jonathan and I at all will know that very little of what we do is on a whim… the curse and blessing of bringing two souls together who are both said to be “over-thinkers” (a description which is often a misunderstanding of the vital deep inner workings of old souls but that’s a story for another time).

What we say or do is typically happening at many levels, much of which is hidden from obvious view… this is true for our new logo too - each part of it is chosen for reasons that are multifaceted and layered, some of which may never be spoken of directly.

A significant aspect of the Be Mythical logo that I will speak a little of now, is the star, and specifically that particular star symbol. This star when seen two-dimensionally, is a hexagram, or Star of David, whereas when created or shown three-dimensionally, as it is in our logo, it is a star tetrahedron, and also known as a merkaba (merkabah or merkavah).

The star tetrahedron is made of two interlocked tetrahedrons, a sacred geometric shape in its own right - maybe more commonly known as the pyramid, spinning in opposite directions, creating something that is far more than the sum of its already undeniably magical parts.

The question is… what is that ‘something’?

I will tell you some of what I know but also recognise that working with the star tetrahedron could be a journey of a lifetime (if not lifetimes), and so those called to do so, can never have that question answered satisfactorily in words alone.

Although the symbol has shown up across the world and in many different magical and spiritual traditions, the word ‘merkaba’ is from Merkavahmysticism, which is Hebrew for chariot mysticism. Merkavah means ‘chariot’ or ‘to ride’ and denotes a divine vehicle made of light, designed to transport the spirit and body to higher realms and the Throne of God.

It is also sometimes said that the word Merkaba is composed of three Ancient Egyptian words:

  • Mer - meaning Light

  • Ka - meaning Spirit

  • Ba - meaning Body

And that together these three words represent the union of spirit with the body, surrounded by counter-rotating fields of light which transport spirit/body from one dimension to another.

It’s a beautiful notion though I can’t find any factual basis for it (for starters, the hieroglyphs that are used to show Mer Ka Ba don’t appear to mean quite what it’s said they mean in this context), but I’m sharing it here anyway as it’s a commonly known definition of the merkaba, and so will be influencing our collective impression of it, regardless of whether it’s ‘true’.

Lastly (for now), the star tetrahedron is seen to combine opposite or polarised energies… for example of masculine and feminine, body and soul, earth and heaven… in complete union. You can see that simply by looking at the symbol even when seen in a 2d image of the 3d shape, such as in our logo, which for example, includes the Masculine upward pointing triangle and Feminine downward pointing one.

So, looking at the commonalities between the various ideas, traditions, and meanings, the invitation, activation, and guidance of the star tetrahedron appears to be one onto the path of the embodied gnosis of union… with everything, with our own souls, and ultimately with God.

So why did we chose it for our logo?

Firstly, stars (not the merkaba but stars of many forms, both material and symbolic) kept showing up along with the mythical energetic which was opening up and calling to us in 2022 (more about what I mean by that can be heard in a recent podcast episode between Jonathan and I). When we created the first 1:1 crucible called Mythical at the end of that year, we used a star symbol when speaking of it.

So when Jonathan and I realised that it was time to rebirth our entire organisation (yet again!) to serve the mythical energetic, it seemed clear that a star would be our logo. It was synchronistically also an honouring salute to the celestial bodies that have been present in all of our logos during the last decade’s evolutions, beginning with Born Happy’s sun.

So the question then was: what kind of star?

The star tetrahedron thrust itself into our awareness as the right symbol, from almost the moment we asked ourselves that question.

Although the workings of spirit in these ways is beyond human comprehension, on a rational level, we can see we chose it for our logo… or it chose us… because everything we do, and have done for many years before we were even conscious of it, is in service of union.

For us, the work of union absolutely includes devoting to and serving the mythical energetic which holds the archetypes, beings, spirits, maps, and ancient magical traditions that act as initiatory doorways through which humans can walk through to meet the Divine (and importantly, without dismissing the human or the soul - unique fractals of the Divine) along The Be Mythical Path, which guides old souls to unite with and actualise their own unique myth.

So if there is one symbol that precisely and wholly captures our work, it is the star tetrahedron.

And so there it is. Now, your quest, if you choose to accept it, is to begin or to journey more deeply on your own soul’s mythical path of union.

You don’t need to walk alone… The wealth of free resources here at Be Mythical and the teachings and initiations within UNIO, the Academy of Sacred Union for old souls in this new world, are there to guide you on your way.

All my love and blessings,

Lian

P.S. Don’t get me started on the meaning of the pyramids, and how they’ve interweaved with this story…  definitely one for another day!
