Her writing focuses on women’s healing through archetypal psychology, embodiment and creativity. She is currently working on her next book, She of the Sea.
Lucy is the founder of Womancraft Publishing, which publishes paradigm-shifting books by women for women.
The mother of three children, she lives by the Celtic Sea in East Cork, Ireland.
In this show we spoke about how ancient Feminine archetypes can help us navigate this time of change and rupture as our known reality is breaking down. Those of us who have been through our own personal breakdowns and have already felt the call to embody these archetypes feel that we have an important part to play in expressing these archetypes in our own unique way.
This episode illuminates the path that some us are already treading and how we can hold ourselves through this intense experience.
I’d love to know what YOU think about this week’s show. Let’s carry on the conversation… please leave a comment below.
What you’ll learn from this episode:
- We can draw inspiration, power and guidance from the embodiment and expression of ancient, universal archetypes. Sometimes the archetype that’s calling us can feel incredibly edgy to own – as Lucy shared about her own relationship to the archetype of ‘oracle’ that she expresses through her work.
- We’ve all received training and templates about how we should be in the world – a tiny, repressed version of our wild, expansive selves – and now the parts of us that have been denied, shamed and hidden are calling to be expressed – it is the powerful medicine that’s needed in these times.
- Giving ourselves to the mess and chaos of the initiatory portals into real life and death is how we can more break open and deeply embody the unique medicine we are.
- This path will bring up fear and risk – there can be very real life costs to women expressing these disruptive archetypes and using our voices to say NO to what’s no longer working – we can be supported by allowing ourselves to be messy, trusting ourselves to enter the darkness – including that of our bodies and the earth – and allow ourselves to be transformed by it, and slowing down and learning to be still and at peace in our bodies, families and homes – we can then be resourced with what we need to face what we need to face and can’t make conscious sovereign choices about our lives.
